Prayer is like going to the provision store of God

From Prayer Assistant Book

1 Thessalonians 5:17 – “Pray without ceasing”

He gives us everything when we talk to Him and tell Him the situations you and I go through. Just like you go to the store to buy what you need, go to the Lord in prayer to get what you need. The storehouse of God is filled with abundant overflowing blessings and these are not curses but blessings. When you go to the Lord asking Him curses, he will not provide it because it is not there in His store. He is not a provider of curses because He owns blessings. When your prayer is not answered then understand, what you have asked was a curse. Go to the Lord in prayer and do not cease to pray. This is what was Paul’s intent. Do not forget to pray! Pray every day, that is what it means. Provision of our life is present with God, in His place. So, go to the prayer store every day. Staying in the store for a long time is good but coming out without purchasing anything doesn’t look good. Hours in prayer is good, walking out without an answer is bad.

  1. I had great difficulty w/ this post. Intentionally or not, it suggests that God exists to provide us w/ any little thing our hearts may desire at a given moment. That is far the case. God wants a relationship w/ us. Prayer is, above all else, communication w/ Him. It is not a secret formula for eliciting gifts (“blessings”) from a spiritual Santa Claus.

The answer to many of our prayers — however sincere they may be — will be “no”. God knows the future, and we do not. He can tell what the outcome of a given request may be (and what factors may have bearing on that request, even if it seems appropriate to us).

God may delay answering our prayers as part of His process for growing our character and our faith. Patience is one of the fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5: 22). Whatever His response and whatever His timing, they will be for our good.

    • Dear Anna,
      Good day!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. However, the intent we have and what you understood is not in same page. I am not presenting Prosperity gospel here, woe to me if I do. We are fighting against the rulers, authorities and powers of darkness. This passage facilitates a person’s mind that God is a prayer answering, so they don’t lose on faith. I don’t have much time to elaborate here. Please share your email and I will share my book. You can correct and provide me with your input.

A person who is willing to learn,
